Breads Choosing New flowering plant
The new plants are being introduced in the gardening world so fast it's hard to keep rhythm. Many of the old standards have greatly improved and resubmitted. This exciting new trend in the garden offers an incredible variety of flowering plants foliage can be used as accent plants or as the focus of a beautiful container floor or planting. In this information sheet, we will review some of the most commonly available specialty accent plants in flower. What distinguishes these new specialty flowering plants accent plus all the old varieties of confidence? The emphasis performance. That means more flowers, new colors and flower shapes and healthier, stronger plants.
Abutilon, Bella
A new improved version of the old parlor maples, Bella Abutilons grown from seed and are much more compact than their ancestors. Bella Abutilons offer flowers pastel bell-shaped. Plants grow 12-16 "tall and prefers partial shade.
aka Margarita Margaritas Agryranthemum Cobbity
These upright plants are sun lovers graced with daisy-like flowers mother. Best blooms from midsummer to frost. Colors include white, pink and yellow.
Gumbo
Related to snapdragons, Angelonia flowers all summer long with more delicate lavender white or blue flowers. High light grows 12-24 "tall and prefers full sun.
Bacopa
Bacopa plants offered for first time were all low, trailing plant with small leaves and tiny white flowers. Now the flowers are larger and there are few variations, including pink lavender, brick red flowers and golden variegated leaves. Be sure to check labels for details because some varieties are not as low growth or compact. The Bacopa white background, full sun or very light shade. The variegated variety can not tolerate full hot Sun
Begonia, Dragon Wing
One type of fibrous angel wing begonia, these 12-18 "upright plants with glossy green leaves hanging flowers are scarlet. Growing up in tone clear and well drained.
Bidens
Single yellow flowers like daisies in a heat-resistant plants with fine foliage cascading. Grow in full Sun A powerful Brachycome filling plant, with lots of small, pink to purple flowers like daisies, with yellow center. Plant in full sun to very light shade. Cut from time to time to stimulate flowering.
Aka million bells Calibrachoa
Easily confused with a miniature petunia, Calibroachoa offers a compact plant that blooms prolifically and held about 6 inches tall. Dahlberg Daisies
Resistant to heat, sun loving plants, with a fine feathery foliage with tiny yellow flowers adorn the connection throughout the summer. Plants grow 12.8 "of height and are best used and inserted as a filler.
Helichrysum
A silver-gray foliage plant with a habit of vanishing and flowers straw-like yellow. Sun needs to flourish well filled and the flowers can not open on cloudy days. Best in baskets or containers. 10-12 "tall.
Impatiens, Specialty
(See our Impatiens fact sheet for more information.) Do not overlook all the new types of impatiens including the incredible double (Fiesta and Tioga series), the beautiful straight
growing number of Africa, with pastel flowers and the new series of small flowers Firefly on compact plants.
African or Cape osteosperma aka Daisies
Beautiful multi-colored daisies on upright plants, most osteosperma varieties prefer the fun part of the season with his thoughts. Watch for the introduction of new ones that are more tolerant to heat, such as Cream Symphony. Plants grow 12-18 "tall and need full sun.
Pentas
It offers beautiful clusters of pink flowers, white or red on upright plants. Pentas have not been used in the garden much because they were too tall and lanky (up to 2 feet). Now that they have developed more compact more branched plants that bloom prolifically in a sunny spot.
Petunias, Specialty
(See our newsletter Petunias Old and New for more information.) There are exciting new kinds of petunias available now, including some miniatures, vegetation types and trailers.
Hybrid Portulaca
Relatives of moss roses (purslane), these plants have the same kind of flowers in a little more upright plant. The leaves are also large and the flowers stay open longer. They need full sun and well drained soil. Average heights of 6.8 "tall.
Scaevola, Fan Flower
Other Sun-lover, flowers Scaevola offers distinctive purple-blue fan-shaped branched, trailing plants. Do you have better when the weather warms and grows 10-14 cm tall and wide.
Torenia, Summer Wave
different from other Torenia, Summer Wave (and Summer Wave Blue) Very provide relatively large flowers on a plant propagation. Grows 8-12 "tall and prefers light shade.
Verbena
Here is a plant that has actually been improved! Watch for new Tapie, Temari and the Twilight series (and others) that offer robust plants, flowers prolific and lots and lots of color. Ideal for hanging baskets and containers. Most introductions of new trailers and can be used as cover crops as well. The Tapia series has a very fine foliage and Temari series has larger leaves. Verbenas need lots of sun to bloom well and stay healthy.

growing Lemon Verbena, lemon balm, mint and pineapple …?
Hi all, I am growing some min pineapple, lemon balm and lemon verbena to buy from the store before homegrown. the leaves of three plants is feeling really dry and crunchy sound when they brush each other, is this bad or plants are only dryish? I have come to place on the agenda and set the mist shower (do not worry, we have very good water to hear: D) and left him for a bit lil for water / wet leaves, then set inside the shade of a bit for the leaves to dry a lil has not sunburned, then outside of a couple of hours and let the sun, but even after being wet, the leaves were still as dry and crisp. lemon (verbena? eather that or balm, rounded leaves, things of lemon is another strip of style sheets) has some leaves that had brown edges on some pages when I bought it, maybe this has something to do with that?
