Carbohydrates – the "hidden" sugars
An important clue that I share with all my clients Weight Loss hypnosis is learning to become in a smart lady "Nutrition Detective." One of the biggest surprises they learn is that 4 grams of sugar equals 1 teaspoon. Given that a large number of labels cans to measure the content in grams, it is sometimes difficult to convert these measurements along those easily recognizable.
I would like play with me here in terms of what I call the "Nutrition Detective" game. To play this game you need to buy a 5 pound bag of sugar for each family member. Place each bag of 5 pounds on the table in front of where they usually sit at the dinner table at the start of the week. For every teaspoon of sugar consumed by each person, remove the same amount in the bag and put it in the trash. The winner of the game is the family member who has the most sugar left in your bag at the end of the week.
The reason why people play this game is simple and based on factual information. Did you know that every adult and child in the U.S. eat a bag of 5 pounds of sugar each week? Hard to believe but true!
So let's start the New Year right to continue the search for hidden sugars in the foods you eat, especially for all of you experience a "waist" management issues. Let me give some other tracks.
- Do you eat white bread?
- Do you eat white rice?
- Make eat white potatoes?
- Do you eat white pasta?
If your answer is yes, you're in for another big shock. All the above elements are carbohydrates. So what is the problem that you may ask? All just sugar in Your Body and end up in places where you do not want appear, ie your waist!
The general rule is: if it is a "white" then chances are carbohydrates is full of sugar. These items loaded with calories are easy to remove from your daily diet by simply making a few menu changes. Instead of plain white bread old, switch to 12 grain wheat bread. Substitute whole grain rice instead of eating whole "instant" white rice products. At present there are many types grains other than wheat or enriched pasta in the market to replace those boring old white, so some of them give a taste test. Try whole wheat pasta or better yet the Omega 3 Flax pasta. The two are healthy for you and Omega 3 family are "good" fats – polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are not only beneficial for health, but they are essential in our daily diet for good health.
No matter that the food of those dreaded white substitute charged carbohydrate, note that moderate consumption is key to becoming a healthy, happy, slim. If you still eat 8 slices of bread at once, then you is against the objective of switching over in the first place.
